About Wyoming Wear Products, Testing and Staff
All Wyoming Wear
products are real life tested in every imaginable condition in Jackson
Hole, Wyoming. This region is known for its sharp climatic changes
from valley to mountain top, season to season and even hour to hour.
Wyoming
Wear's continuous testing and improvement program assures our customers
they are getting functional clothing that will keep them comfortable
in a wide range of conditions. Our testing staff consists of employees
and locals with extensive climbing, skiing, kayaking, fishing, and
related backgrounds.
Activities
where clothing is regularly used and evaluated include: hiking,
backpacking, mountaineering, rock climbing, fly fishing, rollerblading,
hunting, kayaking, windsurfing, canoeing, X-C skiing, back country
skiing, alpine skiing, and mountain biking.
Less officially, Wyoming
Wear is worn by local tradesmen and ranchers who require rugged
and comfortable clothing for being outdoors in Wyoming's variable
climate.
Wyoming Wear also uses
input from sponsored athletes who test our gear to the limit. These
athletes participate in activities ranging from triathalons to endurance
races such as the Eco Challenge to kayak rodeos to extreme ski championships.
At Wyoming Wear, we often receive messages from our customers telling us how much they like our fleece socks. However, a recent message from a woman with neuropathy in her feet as a result of diabetes struck a chord with us.
She wrote: "My mother just gave me a pair of your fleece socks and I'm ecstatic. I haven't tried them out, but I just know that they will be the closest thing to what I have been looking for. I have neuropathy in my feet, which is a symptom of undetected diabetes. It damages the nerves in your feet and it's quite irritating. I've been looking for comfortable socks for years. The only thing that I have found to be comfortable on my very sensitive feet is Vellux material that they make blankets out of. I even tried somewhat successfully to make a sort of slipper out of the material. I've been trying to figure out a way to make socks without seams (also irritating to my feet) which you have accomplished quite well.
"People like me just want a non irritating sock that won't make wearing shoes painful.
"I just wanted you to know that there is another reason people will enjoy your socks more than most."

Because fleece is adept at wicking moisture away from your skin, fleece socks dry faster than typical wool socks. Wyoming Wear uses different weights of fleece for different purposes (sometimes in the same sock) to give you maximum comfort, whether it's hot outside or cold. We do this without sacrificing the protection your feet require in outdoor activities.
Wyoming Wear fleece socks are a sewn product, not knitted. The fabric is knitted, but our unique construction is sewn with a flat-lock stitched seam. It begins with a single-piece blank pattern, and is constructed with dart cuts and flat-lock stitching. That's why our fleece socks are easy to put on, yet stay up without resorting to uncomfortable restrictive materials. The primary benefit of fleece socks, which has made them increasingly popular among young people, is that they dry very quickly, keeping feet warm and dry even under adverse conditions. Fleece also provides maximum comfort in a very technical sock. No other kind of sock can match these qualities. |
